The brazilian people watched the transmission of the ceremony and vote of the International Olympics Comittee ( IOC). In the final evaluation Rio was considered the best because of geopolitical issues.
It shapes up that Lula's lobby was very important. It was a tight race between Rio and Madrid. Maybe a favorable point for Rio was the fact that South America has never hosted an Olympics.
Like Obama said: "Lula, you are the guy!"
