When I was child, my father bought a brand new telephone. I was too small to reach the phone. But I was fascinated to know there was somebody incredible living in there.
Her name was - "Information Please!"
My first personal experience with her was..
My mom wasn´t home and I hit my finger while playing with a hammer and a box of tools. The pain was terrible, but the truth I had no reason to cry. " How could I stop this pain?" And then I remembered the Telephone!!!
I got a chair to reach the phone. And dialed 102.
Miss informations answered in a friendly voice.
" Hello Miss, I hurt my finger..." An the tears came down because I finally had an audience.
She asked: " Can you open the freezer?" " "Get a piece of ice..."
So on and so forth...
That day on, if I had any doubt or problem I would call Miss Information.
Example - If I had geography homework I would call her to know where was Philadelphia located.
One day my bird died and again I called Miss information.
She explained me that other worlds exist and that the birds would sing over there too! One way or the other she would always find a way to comfort me.. The next day I would call her again..
" How do I spell - exception - ?"

When I was 9 years old we moved to Boston. I missed my friend Mis information, please...
As a grew up I would try to feel that same peace and security feeling that Miss Information had passed me through my childhood.

I was in a Business trip and my plane had a connection in Seattle my childhood city. I remembered Miss Information and decided to dial...
Like a miracle she answered with the same sweet voice.
I asked: " How can I spell Exception?"
She replied - "Paul, I think your finger is better already."
" So, it´s you!!!!"
" You were so important for me..." You too, cause you know, I have never had a child, so everyday I would wait for your phone call and be so happy to help you..."
"Can I visit you in 3 months? I´m going to Seattle to visit my sister.
See you in 3 months... My name is Sally, if somebody answers call me, ok?"
Three months passed and I went to Seattle, I called Miss information as promised...
To my surprise another voice answered. " Could I speak to Sally?"
" Sorry, Sally died 2 weeks ago..." I was silent for a few seconds...
" Wait a minute, are you Paul?" " Yes!"
Sally left a message for you she said you would understand."
"Tell Paul that I believe there are other worlds where the birds can sing..."
" She said you would understand.."
" Thank you sir!" " Thank you..."

HOW TO MAKE EASY MONEY

One day a boy called Daniel, saw a man passing with his donkey.
"Hey Mr. sell me your donkey?" The man was needing money so he accepted the proposal and sold it for 20 dollars. But he said he could only hand in the donkey to Daniel and his 2 friends on the next day. He needed the donkey to deliver some bricks.

The boys happily gave the money to the owner of the donkey, they knew where the donkey and the man lived, so there would be no risk.

The next day the man came to the boys and said - "I have bad news for you guys..."The donkey died."
The boys said - "So give our money back.
The man said - "I have used it."
The boys - " So...We want it anyway!"

During the next 2 weeks the boys sold a lottery which cost 2 dollars each.
They made about 1000 dollars, cause they had many friends.

The only trouble they had, was to return the 2 dollars to the winner of the lottery. He would rather the donkey but since he was dead he wanted his money back.

Later we found out that these boys became polititians and the other an owner of an investment bank.

THE ANT AND THE BUZZER

Winter would be coming soon, so the ant worked day and night in order to save food for winter. The buzzer in the other hand, kept on singing in bars, observing the cool breeze of the sunset every single day. She would enjoy happy hours and make her autumn days happy.

Meantime the ant didn´t spend time with her friends and observe the beauty around her.

Winter came...
The ant got in her little cozy house with plenty of food. To her surprise, the buzzer was outside and calling her.
In a friendly way the ant opened the door and asked the buzzer if she needed any help.
Amazingly the buzzer was driving a Ferrari and dressing expensive clothes. And she answered the ant. "Yes, I do need your help... Can you please take care of my house, while I travel? I will spend the winter in Paris I have just signed a contract of 6 months to sing there. While I was singing in one bar during the happy hour and drinking a beer a producer invited me." " But could you take care of my house whille I´m there?"
The ant replied "Of course!"
The buzzer asked "Do you want anything from Paris?"
The ant said - " Oh yes, I sure want. Could you please tell La Fontaine to go ....f....

Eleonóra Oliosi - the ballerina - she has all the time been involved with her career. She loved to dance and loves to teach too. As my sister, she is present in my life, teaching me to live and to dance.

I have many good memories...
When I was a child she used to take my hand and we went together to the movies at Cinelândia square in downtown. There I learned to love dancers like Gene Kelly, Cyd Charisse and Fred Staire . I also used to go to Eleonóra's classes and rehearsals' while she developed her career at Municipal Theater. At that time I realized that dance would be important to my life.

Last week I was introduced to a good wine, called "Quinta dos Aciprestes" from Douro region. It has 14% of alcohol, it is made with a mix of old grapes. It has a soft smell of vanilla, cherries and plums. It is worth trying it.
Followed with strong cheese, walnuts, raisins and bread it's delicious.

Today we'll talk about the 3 filmes related to wine, the first "A Good Year", tells the story of a stock market investor (Russell Crowe) who inherits a vineyard, and is forced to visit the property to organize his sale .He has memories of his childhood and is obliged to relate to people who are part of the history of the land.
The second is "A Walk in the clouds" is about a man (Keanu Reeves) who came back from the war and he discovers that his marriage was a mistake, on a trip he meets a pregnant woman and he decides to introduce himself as her husband, to her family. This way he helps her, because she was in bad spots. Remember, the film takes place in the 1940`s. In this film we can see how wine was produced in the old times.'
The third is "Sideways"the man is fond of wine and gives his best friend a trip to California's vineyards, on this trip they meet two women that follow them through the pleasures of wine.

Michael Jackson's Estate: Saved by the Beatles

Will Michael Jacksons' three children, Michael Joseph Jr., Paris Michael and Prince Michael II, end up paupers? The answer rests on the value of the performer's largest asset: his 50% stake of a music publishing company called Sony/ATV Music Publishing.

Jackson, who died on June 25, left behind as much as $500 million of debts. That includes a $315 million loan owed to British bank Barclays, as well as millions of dollars of bills. "Jackson never paid his bills," says a lawyer who did work for Jackson over the years. "Countless professionals who worked for him are still waiting to get paid." In May, the singer's long-time publicist Raymone Bain sued Jackson for $44 million in unpaid fees. See the last photos of Michael Jackson.
But whether those debts will mean Jackson died bankrupt depends heavily on the worth of Sony/ATV. Jackson had other assets, including rights to many of his own songs, as well as about 1,000 hours of rehearsal footage leading up to this summer's London concert tour and possibly about a hundred unreleased songs. But none of those assets are likely to be nearly as valuable as his stake in Sony/ATV, which has been valued at anywhere from $390 million to $1 billion.
Jackson's 1985 purchase of ATV Music, which included in its catalog about 250 Beatles tunes, for $47.5 million formed the basis of his stake in the music publishing business, and was by far his shrewdest music deal. Yoko Ono, John Lennon's widow, and Paul McCartney had considered bidding a combined $20 million for the collection, but Ono decided that was more than the collection was worth. Jackson's purchase price of more than double that is still far less than what the songs would sell for now.
In 1995, Jackson agreed to merge ATV with Sony's music publishing business. The Japanese corporation paid Jackson $150 million to complete the deal, and split the ownership of the new company with the performer 50-50. In March 2007, an audit of Jackson's finances valued his half of Sony/ATV at $390 million. (Read "What Happened to Michael Jackson's Millions?")
But, just two years later, it is likely that Jackson's stake in Sony/ATV is worth much more than that. First of all, music publishing has not been hit nearly as bad by the shift to music downloads and away from compact discs as much as the rest of the industry. Unlike a record label, a music publisher does not only get paid when an album or other original recording of a song is sold. Publishers retain the rights to a song and get paid every time it is performed or appears in a movie or advertisement by the original artist or any other. "I have talked to a number of music publishers who tell me last year was their best year in a while," says Susan Butler, a former music industry lawyer who now writes a newsletter Music Confidential. "Guitar Hero and other games have created a lot of opportunity for the publishers." (See TIME's full Michael Jackson coverage.)
What's more, in early 2007, Sony recruited industry veteran Martin Bandier, who turned rival EMI into a publishing powerhouse, to lead the unit. The hire seems to have paid off. Bandier has reenergized Sony's publishing company, completing a number of acquisitions and landing some popular new acts, including former American Idol contestant Elliott Yamin and rising music star Lady Gaga. Along with the Beatles, Neil Diamond and Bob Dylan, the company's 750,000-song catalog now includes the Jonas Brothers, Ruben Studdard and Taylor Swift. In the first quarter of this year, Sony/ATV ranked as the second largest music publisher in the U.S., with just under 20% of the market, up from a rank of fifth three years ago. Its Lady Gaga hit "Just Dance" was the best selling song in the first three months of the year. The result: Industry sources estimate Sony/ATV's revenue has grown more than 60% in the past two years to an annual $500 million. Net publisher's share, a closely watched figure in the industry, which is sales minus payments to artists, has doubled to an estimated $200 million. "The music publishing business is ripe with opportunities, and we are continuing to grow our business," says Bandier. (Watch TIME's video "Appreciating Michael Jackson, the Musician.")
What does that mean Sony/ATV is worth? In a recent financial filing, Sony said the division had $1.3 billion in assets, and $479 million in debt. That would give the division a net value of about $850 million. But it would be likely to fetch much more than that in a sale. When Universal Music bought BMG Music Publishing in September 2006, Universal paid $2.1 billion or nearly 12 times BMG's estimated net publisher's share. Sony/ATV probably wouldn't get the same multiple in today's market. But even at 10 times its current publisher's earnings the company would be worth $2 billion.
Jackson, though, might not be able to sell his interest in Sony/ATV for its full $1 billion value. In 2006, as part of a deal to restructure his mounting debts, he gave Sony/ATV an option to buy half of his holdings in the company at a later date. Sony will not disclose the terms of that deal, but it probably limits what the Japanese company would have to pay Jackson for half of his Sony/ATV stake.
Still, the quarter of the publishing business that Jackson does own outright would be enough to clear out his debts. And Sony would still have to pay many millions for the rest, even with the option. The bottom line: Michael Jackson's estate is probably more than solvent. "People are focused on the amount of money Michael owed, but you have to look at the assets, too," says Ivan Thornton, who worked as financial advisor to Jackson on and off for the past decade. "He's in debt, but he is certainly not bankrupt."

Juan Pablo Lecaros from Colchagua Valley defends the Malbec grape from Chile, even though, this grape is more common in Argentina.
Juan says that their wine is very different from Argentina's wine, because it tastes flowery with sweeter tannin.

On the other hand, the wine from Chile is stronger and it has an earth smell.
In Chile they look for the ideal maturity of the tannin, their tannin is softer and their capacity to mature the wine is larger and so you can appreciate them as soon as they are launched.

JOSHUA BELL - FROM WASHINGTON POST TO NEWS YATES

Joshua Bell one of the best violinist of the world played marvelous pieces from J.S.Bach at Boston theater this year. The audience paid around $100 dollars to appreciate him. Joshua played with his Stradivarus violin which costs $3.5 million dollars.
YOU BET IT WAS WORTH IT.

Washington Post understands that not everybody can afford to pay to listen to Joshua Bell at the theaters around the world.
So...
Believe it or not, he was at the subway station during the rush hour playing the same masterpieces that he played in Boston theater, with the same $3.5 million violin.
His audience were 6 children who insisted in making their mothers' stop, but the children were dragged with no success, looking backwards to appreciate the music. Two elderly people stopped a few minutes too. Only 1 woman watched all the performance , congratulating the man she didn't even know who he was.
After one hour of performance, Joshua Bell received tips which summed up to $35 dollars.

As we can see the crisis is for all!
It began in USA.
Why?
Because of the over consumption stimulated by the excess of
credit making it easy for everyone to buy, without money and
without thinking.
The Central Bank of USA and Europe had no laws to control the over consumption stimulated by the bank.
Which resulted into a crisis, the banks would offer credit to
unemployed and without a monthly
budget ( income).
How could this people buy anything ?
The debt would be transformed into negotiable papers
and sold to other funds of finnancial institutions.
Without any control or security.
The crisis can be resumed into a big snow ball of papers.

CUT THE EGG PLANT IN THE SMALL SQUARES AND PUT IN A BOWL, TOGETHER WITH WATER FOR ONE HOUR. CUT THE YELLOW AND RED PEPPER IN SLICES BECAUSE IT'S VERY COOL.
CUT THE ONION IN SMALL SQUARES TOO, SMASH THE GARLIC, PUT THEM TOGETHER WITH OLIVE OIL, IN LOW FIRE FOR A SHORT TIME AND PUT THE EGG PLANT FOR TEN MINUTES MIXING IT ONCE IN WHILE..

This is a very rare case and the only case in literature of a damage of a breast implant due to a gunshot. The gunshot caused leakage of the silicone gel from both entry and exit wounds of the breast. We are communicating that the 35 year old woman was shot in the thoracic area. More details about this story next week. Dr. Luiz Haroldo Pereira has accomplished the second surgery in order to fix up the damage caused by the shots. The patient has recovered with no complications.

FIRST DRUM ORCHESTRA OF RIO DE JANEIRO By: Rui Strang

The orchestra has 16 members in between them are students and teachers. One of the purposes of the orchestra is to demostrate the versatility of the drums and the variety of music styles that we can play.
The orchestra is composed by 3 different drums: drum set, floor ton and snares. In the repertoire we play brazilian and latin rythms, such as:
samba, maracatu, salsa, kalango, baião and axé. All these rythms are created by the mentor of the project, Jorge Casa Grande.

Seven years ago the orchestra arose and has already accomplished 128 shows. Most of the shows have been non profit outdoor and indoors, we have played in Cinelândia, Petrobrás, the side walk of Bangu and Campo Grande etc...
